NARRATIVE

Initial plot idea

 After choosing our genre of psychological horror, we began to think of a narrative and plot for our film opening. We decided that we wanted to base it on a female character, who has had a troubled past involving a stalker. In our first plot idea we had the idea that she would go to a party involved with drugs which would trigger her into a hallucinating that she was being surrounded by her stalker, making her think she was going insane. The opening would end with her walking away with a knife, implying that she killed someone. However after some thought we decided this wasn’t a strong narrative and we wanted to keep it basic, but equally as engaging and frightening to watch.

Final plot idea

We decided to focus more on the main  character and her story, so in our second narrative we thought we would have the main story take place in a counselling room. The girl would be telling her story to a councillor and would begin to have flashbacks of an attack she experienced by an over possessive ex boyfriend who had been stalking her. The opening ends with her walking outside and there is a short flash of him standing on the other side of the road looking at her.
