Murdered by my boyfriend, a
BBC three drama realised in 2014, tells the tragic true story of what
happens to a teenage girl when she falls in love with the wrong man. Her life
is turned upside down as their relationship deteriorates, leaving her
a victim of brutal domestic violence, which eventually is the cause
of her death.
Our new narrative is
focusing more on domestic violence within a young relationship and we gained a
lot of inspiration from the actors in the programme, including the
tension and interaction between them, the false happiness the girl is
forced to endure, the dominating and controlling nature of the boyfriend
as well as and the subtle and brutal consequences of the
abusive relationship and the effects this has on her physical and mental
wellbeing.
